Sewing is great but it can also create lots of scrap fabric in the process. What do you do with all those scraps? Do you save every scrap piece of fabric? Do you throw everything away? Well, you can do lots of sewing projects with scraps of fabric, and they become useful and eco-friendly items you will use all the time.
I often keep anything larger than a fat quarter for another project. I fold it up and keep it on the shelf. I find a fat quarter is usually enough for most projects. For anything smaller I either make a scrap fabric project, make a sample to practice a sewing technique, or I shred it to use it as stuffing in a future sewing project.
I have the hardest time getting rid of my favorite scrap fabric or fabric from my favorite sewing projects. I get really attached to the fabric even though I know there is always more fabric. I just want to treasure the fabric that made me my favorite outfit. It’s best to use these scrap fabric in one of these fabric scrap project ideas so that I can save them and cherish them but using them in another way.
