DIY Valentine T-Shirts for Kids

I made some simple DIY Valentine t-shirts for my kids by upcycling adult t-shirts. Then I used some freezer paper stencils to add the graphic.
I decided to jump in on KCW this time to just make clothes for my kids that I am inspired by and that I love. I decided to do a bunch of tees for the kids first. I did two Valentine’s Day shirts and two other fun tees.

Do you like Valentine’s day tees? Make one of these:
- DIY Ribbon Heart Tee
- DIY Chenille Heart Tee

It was my first time trying freezer paper stencils, and it was awesome. A lot of work to cut out each picture because I don’t have any sort of cutting machine, but they turned out so great. I really love them.
Every shirt was upcycled from an adult shirt which made sewing them up super fast since I didn’t have to sew any hems. Those slow me down the most.
The moon shirt I let my son paint. It was hard to let him take the reins while worrying about staining paint that could get everywhere. He liked it except that it’s hard to paint on fabric.
Then I made him the arrow heart shirt for Valentine’s. I LOVE it. I think it’s my favorite of all of them. I freezer painted the black part and stamped the hearts. He was disgruntled that one heart was “cracked.”
For my daughter I made a “messy hair, don’t care” shirt because her hair is long and always a mess. I’ve wanted to make her a shirt like this since she was born because of her awesome hair.
The last shirt is the other of the Valentine’s Day Shirts, and it’s the ABC’s with “I {heart} U” in red.
Tomorrow I’ll take pictures of the kid’s wearing the shirts so I can post those! Have you ever tried freezer paper stencils?
I love making holiday inspired t-shirts for my kids! I’ve made some easy DIY Valentine t-shirts and I have a free skeleton heart svg!

I really want to. But this week is the week of Hunters Safety. So kids clothes will wait for another day.
