Free Bat SVG

Use this free bat SVG cut file to make a really fun Halloween t-shirt or trick-or-treat tote bag. Say “boo ya” with bats for Halloween!

I’m so excited for Fall and Halloween! My son has been so excited for everything Halloween related so I decided to make him a new Halloween inspired tee with this “Boo yah” svg.

The best part is that I’m sharing the Free Bat Cut File with you! It works great in iron-on vinyl, HTV, or infusible ink!

I’ve used this “Boo yah” bat cut file multiple times. I used it on a black long sleeve tee for my son, and I cut it out on orange.

There’s nothing more Halloween than black and orange together.

I love how the “BOO” is the giant focal point of the t-shirt. My son can’t wait to wear it in October!

My son is long and thin which makes it hard to buy tee shirts for him. I knew he would enjoy a Halloween so much that I decided to sew one and decorate it with a free svg.

He loves this tee and says “boo yah” all day long!

For warmth I made him a long sleeve sweatshirt. I used the Alex and Anna Pajama* top in a size 6 which is about half a size up of what he usually wears.

I used some amazing ghost fabric for the sleeves which isn’t available anymore but here is a similar ghost fabric: boo yah ghost fabric, grey ghosts fabric, and halloween ghosts.

I chose the ghost fabric because he needed some stretch in the sleeves. The gray sweatshirt fabric* for the body has almost no stretch so the sleeves would only be comfortable with a jersey fabric.

I do love the way that the ghost fabric contrasts with the gray and black. It would’ve been cool with bat fabric!

I finished the neckline and sleeve hems with (similar) gray ribbing*. I used the bat “boo yah” cut file for him which you can find at the end of the post.

He loves having a funny and scary shirt to wear this month!

What is Iron-On Vinyl or HTV?

Iron-on vinyl or heat transfer vinyl is vinyl that has glue or adhesive on the back that is activated when heated. When the iron-on vinyl is heated the glue causes the iron-on vinyl to be fused to the t-shirt. The iron-on vinyl sits on top of the fabric.

The color of the iron-on vinyl is the color it will be after being heated. The color does not change.

What is Infusible Ink?

Infusible ink is ink that is transferred by heat. It’s essentially sublimation, but it’s now accessible to hobby crafters. When infusible ink is transferred the ink is infused into the item.

Infusible ink can be purchased as an infusible ink transfer sheet and as infusible ink pens. The colors of the infusible ink transfer sheet look pale before being heated, but they are very bright once heated and transferred.
