Christmas Tree Skirt Sewing Pattern with Scraps of Prints – Full Size
I pulled all my pink and green scraps of fabric and fat quarters along with some of my Christmas prints. It was really fun to mix and match pink and green prints. I had a bigger scrap of a pink, red, and green ornament fabric so I cut that out as the center stripe.
Since the pieces range in sizes, you can cut lots of different prints and colors to brighten up the skirt.
This Christmas tree skirt has quilting on each side of the seam, and quilting on each side of the stripes. Then I finished the whole tree skirt with a bold solid red. I didn’t organize the fabrics super well, but I love the scrappy look of the tree skirt.
I skipped adding a closure because the layers help way down the Christmas tree skirt and adding ties would take more time.
Christmas Tree Skirt Sewing Pattern with Solid Colors – One Stripe Left Off
For this bold striped version, I only did red and white stripes. This is the style I first envisioned when I designed this sewing pattern (the scrappy version was a super fun bonus!). I loved maked a peppermint inspired tree skirt. I had to label each pattern piece with red or white to make sure I cut everything out correctly.
I love the bold simplicity of the red and white contrast. It’s so Christmassy, but it also looks like a giant peppermint sucker or candy.
This Christmas tree skirt has quilting lines on each white circle stripe. I wanted minimal quilting so the stripes would really shine. I used the leftover ornament fabric as bias binding to finish all the edges.
I skipped adding a closure because the layers help way down the Christmas tree skirt and adding something would take more time.
As my holiday style evolves and changes over time, I love coming up with new Christmas tree skirt patterns. It’s so fun that this pattern can be made into a rainbow, bold solid stripes, or a scrappy patchwork.
I cannot wait to see all the tree skirts you make with this sewing pattern. You are all so creative and I’m so impressed with everything you make!
