DIY Fabric Napkin Rings

Having cloth napkins and DIY napkin rings makes any meal feel extra special. It levels it up from a regular, everyday meal. I’ve wanted to make napkin rings, but I wanted to sew them with fabric.

It’s fun to mix and match colors, and these DIY fabric napkin rings are so easy to make! You can make a set to enjoy or for a handmade gift.

– Scraps of silk fabric – Fusible interfacing – Sewing tools – Sewing machine

MATERIALS:

Cut your silk into 4 inch by 8 inch pieces with matching pieces of fabric. If you have enough fabric, you can cut the rectangles on the bias for a softer knot.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Interface each piece with fusible interfacing and an iron. It’s really important to use interfacing, or the fabric will be too light, and you can poke holes when turning it right side out.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Sew the short ends of the two rectangles together with a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Press the seam open and flat.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise, matching the long edges with the right sides together. Pin it in place along the whole edge.
