A couple weeks ago I gave you a fabric teaser of the swimsuit my sister was making: the zebra print swimsuit. I love these two fabrics together! I think the purple contrasts perfectly with the zebra print.
My sister just finished the swimsuit on Saturday! Isn’t it adorable? I love how it’s fun, flirty, modest, and asymmetrical.
We decided to place the pattern so that the zebra lines were on the princess lines to be the most flattering. Not that my gorgeous sister needs it! I think the thin strap and the thick strap are just perfect.
I love the slight “V” made by the straps. You can see that the back has a center back seam, but it’s almost invisible.
She added the skirt for a flirty look and to add a little coverage to the legs. It also ties in with the flower.
Didn’t she do a good job? And how cute is the little flower? We really love making swimsuits. Here are some tips for sewing swimsuit fabric.
