The coolest thing about this dress is that I used only two fat quarters! It’s a smaller size with no sleeves or ties, so I was able to use two fat quarters. I used this navy and white striped fabric on a fat quarter of basic combed cotton and this gorgeous watercolor floral fabric also on a fat quarter of basic combed cotton. I love how the stripes look next to the floral and how it makes the floral stand out. It’s such a fun summer dress! If you are sewing stripes this is how to match stripes.
I used one of my favorite dress patterns, the Mori Dress & Top. I left off the flutter sleeves and the side ties, and I added some flat white piping in the princess seams. I had to piece the skirt because I had a limited amount of fabric. (I used two fat quarters!) I made a size 12 mos width and 18 mos length. I didn’t hem it because I didn’t have any hem allowance, so I just serged a wide rolled hem. It’s not the best, but I think it looks okay.
