I got some “encouragement tags” that say “STRONG” with a mountain and some that say “BRAVE” with a star. Since they are iron-on, I ironed them right onto the bottom left part of his hem of every shirt. I told him he can reach down and feel the encouragement tag every time he needs bravery or strength. It will make him remember how brave and strong he is every time he needs it.
I got this idea from Dana from Sew Thrifty when she made some inspiring clothing labels on her DIY maternity clothing. I love her idea! I’m glad I was able to use it to inspire my son. I know he’ll be just great, and he’ll love preschool. I just want to give him any encouragement I can.
I already sew in tags that say “Made with love by Mama” to all the kids clothing I make. I got some handmade ones from Etsy, and I’m still trying to use them up. That’s another reason I chose inspiring tags instead of “Mama Made” tags. I love these woven tags. They are really high quality, and I was amazed at how well they iron-in. I fell like most iron-on things really don’t iron on well, but these actually do. I even have a cheap iron, and they were easy to apply and iron. I don’t feel like they’ll be coming off anytime soon. And I still have plenty to iron into jackets and any new clothing he’ll get.
*I was offered tags in exchange for a review. All opinions are mine.
