Sewing Pattern Reviews
I love to sew my own clothing, and I have sewn lots and lots of different sewing patterns. I have sewn pdf sewing patterns, and I have also sewn paper patterns like Simplicity, Butterick, and Mccall's. With all of this sewing I have done, I have a lot of sewing pattern reviews to share.
My favorite patterns to work with are women's PDF sewing patterns. I sew for my children and my husband, but I mostly sew for myself. I'm trying to switch over to a completely handmade wardrobe, and it is taking me years to get there. I like going slowly to get the right fit and the right style.
In these reviews of sewing patterns you will find pattern alterations for my body type and measurements and pattern hacks. I rarely make a pattern the way it is written, so there are lots of variations. I also make patterns more than once with variations each time.
I recommend trying lots of different patterns and designers to find the one that works best for you. All bodies are asymmetrical with unique shapes and measurements. Each designer has a different block they design with, so it is a really good idea to try a lot of them out to find the one that fits your body closest.
Free sewing patterns are great for beginners and testing out a pattern designer before buying a pattern. I also have some free skirt sewing patterns with unique details for make custom fitted skirts.
