My husbands favorite pair of jeans was starting to wear out where he puts his wallet in his back pocket. Lets learn how to do a pocket mend with some special argyle stitching.
To fix them, I unpicked the inside stitching (red dotted line) of the double stitched pocket. Then I cut a piece of matching denim that was slightly smaller than the pocket size (green dotted line). I slid in the patch and resewed the inside pocket stitching (red dotted line).
Then I added some matching hand-stitching in an argyle design to sew the patch to the pocket.
I did the same thing for the other pocket even though it wasn’t as worn out so it would match the other. I really like the argyle and how it blends in really well. My husband loves having his favorite jeans back with no holes in the pockets.
